Pixel 9 Pro Fold screen protectors: protect the cover screen, leave the fold alone

Unfolded, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold measures 155.2 × 150.2 × 5.1 mm; folded, 155.2 × 77.1 × 10.5 mm. The 6.3-inch cover display has a Gorilla Glass Victus 2 front, the same kind of surface as any other phone, and it is the one that meets keys and coins.

The 8-inch inner display has a plastic front. Rigid glass cannot bend, so it cannot go there — it would crack at the first fold and can take the soft top layer with it.

Foldables ship with a film bonded to the inner display as part of the panel, not as packaging. Peeling it is a common and expensive mistake. If yours lifts at the edge or bubbles, that is a warranty conversation with Google, not a job for a replacement film from a marketplace.

If you want something on the inner screen anyway, only flexible film is physically possible, and it will sit on top of a surface that is already softer than glass.

The 9 Pro Fold reads your fingerprint from a side-mounted sensor, not through the display. That removes the problem that dominates protector choice on other Pixels, where optical and ultrasonic sensors react differently to glass. Here, choose on fit and finish instead.
